Engagement: Celina + Hector

High school. The place of dreaded gym workouts, bad hair days, prom and meeting your soul mate in Physics. At least that's how it was for Celina and Hector. Celina was the new girl in school and Hector clearly recalls that she was the only person on the first day of class to take out her calculator as if she was ready to take a final exam while the other students were only concerned about getting through the first couple of pages of the class syllabus. But before they could learn about Newton's law of gravity and velocity, Celina dropped out of the class but that quirky, overachiever, new girl that sat across the room in Physics caught Hector's eye, and eventually his heart. Celina remembers the exact day Hector asked her for her number, not knowing that three years later he would ask her to be his wife. Both Hector and Celina are planning a beautiful wedding in Temecula and I was so happy when they asked if I could shoot their engagement shoot. They're also good friends of mine, which made me even more excited to have them in front of the camera!

Celina and Hector, thank you for allowing me to document such a special time in your lives.! You guys absolutely fit the idea of adorable! :)

Locks of love shoot

Every girl knows her hair is her best accessory. You can braid it, scrunch it, curl it, straighten, it you name it. To a girl, hair is not just hair. It's valuable. Last week eight brave young ladies came together and reiterated this reality. That hair is valuable. It is valuable to that young girl who is fighting the battle of cancer and has lost the opportunity to run her fingers through her hair like so many girls can. And these eight girls? Well, they decided to give back by giving a little piece of themselves to those girls who aren't so fortunate. My brother in law is the youth leader at his church and he challenged these young ladies to donate their hair to cancer patients. Ally from glitz and glam decided to jump on board and offer her awesome hair cutting skills. This girl is a trooper. She cut and styled eight girls' hair by herself. She's a wizard, I swear. My brother in law asked if I could take some head shots of these fabulous ladies after their hair cutting experience and I loooved the idea! What a more awesome way to celebrate what they did than with a fabulous shoot to show off their adorable new do? They got short hair and they don't care folks! Each girl donated at least 6 inches of their hair to locks of love. A non-profit organization that helps disadvantaged children under 21 who are suffering long-term hair loss.

Astrid is so cute. Her hair was super long before she cut it and she was so nervous to cut it but she was a total trooper, and her hair? I'd say it turned out adorbs!

Last but not least, the youngest of the bunch. Grace. I just want to pinch her cheeks and take her home with me.
