School is out!

So I've been overly expressing my joy in regards to school being out. Then again, I do that with everything. Especially the time when I tasted chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream for the first time. It was a case for complete overjoy, let me tell you. This semester had me banging my head against my desk several times. And this picture below, yeah, I'm not exactly sure who this kid is but he totally gets my School is out and I wanna' run out some double doors lifting my arms up in air while making an overly exited face feeling. That, or he just tasted chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream for the first time.

Happy Monday ya'll! :)

Prom Shoot: Celina + Hector & Monica + Allan

It's been four years since my senior prom and my strapless gold dress still hangs in my closet draped under a white plastic bag. From time to time it sees the light of day and I try it on to see if my fascination and weakness for all things carbs has affected the growth of my love handles. And from time to time I freak out when I realize it has. Then I lie to myself by assuming that's not the case because carbs are friends not foes. It's the zipper, it MUST be dumb!!

It's crazy how time goes by so fast. One day your trying on a gold strapless dress and the next day your freaking out over how your love handles are all love-ish and stuff.

When my friend Hector asked if I could take pictures of him and his girlfriend and a few of their other friends as they headed off to prom my words were heck yeah!!  I almost wanted to go shoot in my prom dress, dumb zipper and all! I'm kidding internet, I'm kidding. We started off Saturday afternoon at his girlfriend Celina's house where I met their friends Monica and Allan, which I gotta say rocked out the shoot like nobody's business. Here are some shots of the day. :)

I snapped this picture of Monica moments after she arrived to Celina's house and I have to say it's one of my favorites.
Then we headed off to a nearby park where both couples rocked it out.
                                                                Allan, you stud you.
                                                           This picture makes me happy.

Half way to 42 and prom shoot sneak peek! :)

School is over in a week and I keep on having happy dances in my head every time I think about it. And maybe real happy dances here and there. It's been a hectic and stressful semester so it was nice to take a break from all the homework chaos and spend my afternoon this past saturday hanging out with a bunch of seniors all glammed out for prom. And me, well, I felt like a total grandma because it hit me. I'm almost half way to 42!! And in my book that's granny material, and perhaps being a little over dramatic. But after the half way to 42 crisis, I got over it and started acting like I was part of the possy. Because every cool teenager says possy. Ya dig?

Here's a sneak peek of Saturday's prom shoot! :) More to come this week!

2012 Senior Portrait Contest!!!

Oh high school, the home of passing periods and really wierd cafeteria ladies. For some reason, high school is where all the really embarassing moments happen. You know, the moments that end the entire social universe in our teenage lives. For me, my social universe ended my sophmore year during P.E. The lock on my locker wouldn't open after class was over and to not miss my next class my teacher told me to wait until school was over to get it open. Oh no she didn't!  Oh, but she did and I ended up waiting six class periods walking around on campus wearing my p.e clothes with pit stains and people asking me, where are your normal clothes? You know there's a thing called deoderant! Ok, no one really told me that but I could have sworn on every brand of deoderant out there that they were thinking it!

I eventually got over my pit stain crisis, but it's one embarassing moment I'll always remember.

The end of another school semester is fast approaching, and for all you 2012 high school seniors it's the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Yup, get ready cuz' it's time for the real world ya'll! And if you're like me when I was in highschool, trying to buy all the senior stuff before even getting to the real world part can get a little on the expensive side. So this year, I've decided to give out a free senior portrait shoot for a lucky senior who wants to save a few bucks and wants to share a few laughs by submitting their most embarssing moment of their high school years!

To enter the contest you must:
- Be a high school senior
- Must live in the Riverside County
- Submit a picture of yourself along with your name, and high school to my email (posephotog@gmail.com) describing an embarassing high school moment you've experienced. Oh, and please keep your stories clean. :)

Last day to enter is April 26, 2012 at 11:59pm. Winner of the funniest submission will be chosen by yours truly and winner will be announced April 27th on my blog! Can't wait to hear your stories! Happy story telling!

Brain frying and the gee-tar!

I've been busy these past few months. Like alot busy. Like my life revolves around loads of homework and busting by gluteus maximus off to get accepted into the teaching credential program kind of busy. And I realize that saying gluteus maxumus instead of butt makes me sound way more mature. You know, like all science-ish and stuff.  It's towards the end of the semester and with so much work I need to get done before school is out in just two weeks my brain feels like it's been sitting in a frying pan. And there will be more busting of the gluteus maximus this fall because I got accepted into the program. Thank ya' Jaayzzuss!

But in between all this college business and brain frying, I hopefully plan on taking some time aside  for something I've been meaning to learn how to do. Working out more often and staying away from carbs. Ok, I'll do that next year, or perhaps like never. But being real here, I really want to learn how to play the guitar. I've always loved music, particularly singing but I've never taken the intitative to learn how to play an instrument, even though I've always wanted to. I thought about forcing my dad to teach me, but after a few seconds I realized if I do I'll probably end up learning how to play every song with a hadrcore mexican twang. haha! Wish me luck ya'll!

Happy Saturday! :)
