Embracing change...

I hate change. A little more than I hate working out. I'm not good at dealing with it and I do my best to avoid it. Fact is, change scares me. I like my comfort bubble so whenever that bubble of mine pops I freak out like I do when I'm having a bad hair day. I mean, why can't I just order the same thing over and over from the Wendy's menu! If I order something else besides order number seven I might just hate it!! See, I told you I'm not good with change. Even when it comes to a burger. The decisions I make are ususally always based around the comfortable bubble I've managed to sustain. The college I chose to go to, the major I chose to study, the jobs I've applied for, the shampoo I've used for years. Which by the way I've recently switched but I confess I didn't want to because I thought my hair was gonna' fall out. But it turns out Garnier Fructis is the business so I won't be bald anytime soon. I'm exagerating internet!

My best friend Pam, she doesn't live in a bubble. She orders something different every time we go to Wendy's and I wouldn't be surprised if she used a different shampoo every week or lived in Africa helping people with their teeth in the next couple of years. She's spontanious and care free in ways I wish I was. Recently a little part of my bubble was bursted and I didn't know how to handle it. I've recently decided to move churches and after attending my old church literally my entire life it was a little hard for me to handle. To leave a whole group of people I've felt so attached to all these years and having to put my comfrot zone aside made me feel uneasy. But it was something I know I needed to do. And the way things are going I may just switch conditioners too! What!

Yuli is growing up...

She's graced the cover of this bloggity before. And I swear Yulissa becomes more beautiful every time. This time it was for her sweet 15. It's a big thing in the hispanic culture. A Latin girl takes her poofy dress and over sized hair bun seriously. Frr'rrels. Even though I don't shoot sweet 15's I totally tagged along with my camera because well, I've known Yuli since she was in her momma's womb so I totally had the right to be all up in her grill with my camera the day of her 15 even though she didn't ask me to. She used to be in my middle school Sunday school class but now her poofy dress and hair bun prove that she's no longer that little girl who used to play on the swings at the church playground. She's becoming a young lady and I totally get into this weird mom mode thing where I secretly cry while I think to myself THEY GROW UP SOO FAST! Okay, so I'm exaggerating a bit but Yuli is part of the youth from church and I totally have a soft spot for all of those kids, so when it comes to them I tend to get a little emotional. I'm a crier internet, beware!

Before the ceremony, Yulissa and her court took some pictures and of course I was all up in the mix capturing some images of her big day. Several of the guys and girls from my church's youth were part of the court and as I saw all the girls with their glittery dresses and makeup and the guys all suited up with their tuxes, the momma bear in me came out. They grow up sooo fast!!

Yuli, happy birthday again girly! Love you. :)

p.s.  Don't kiss any boys!!

Swag!

M.I.A and other shenanigans....

So I've been a little M.I.A on this bloggity lately but I swear it's because I've been super busy. You know, with the whole hanging out at the pool, laying out at the beach, hanging out at the pool, it's just been so stressful I just may need some therapy. And with all the laying out beside the pool shenanigans I think people may start to think I'm related to Tan Mom. My foot looks like it was dipped in charcoal. Anyways, I promise blog readers I have a few shoots lined up and I am super excited to showcase them!

In other news, a few weeks ago when I ordered my business cards I was offered to sign up for two free Martha Stewart Living magazines, and because I like anything free I signed up and now I realize Martha here is a girl after my own heart. Because her summer berry recipes are driving my heart all wild!

Dropping the bomb...

Yesterday as we laid beside the pool my sister laid a bomb on me. "We should get in shape this summer." I can't remember how many times we've promised to get in shape together every summer but well, we never do. I told her to make it official we should make a pact and seal it with blood to make more legit and stuff because blood just makes it sound more hardcore. But, ofcourse I was joking internet!  I've always had issues being happy with my weight but heres the thing, I HATE working out and I've shared it a few times before my dear internet friends. I just wish that eating all the sweets I want would have no impact on my love handles. And that my love for all things deep fried gave me a six pack. But the reality is, I need to get in shape, because when girl can't go up five stairs without losing her breath there is something wrong!

And because blog posts are much better with pictures check out this T-shirt I found online. I might just buy it and wear it while I'm on the tredmill.

New styled shoot coming soon...:)

Last night at a friend's birthday dinner party I discovered that there are such a thing as cake cookies. CAKE COOKIES! Internet, you know my love affair with all things sweets and when I tasted these babies my sweet tooth went crazy. And so did my heart. There's nothing like a new pastry to get me all excited but you know what else gets me as excited as tasting cake cookies for the first time? A styled shoot. Yes, a new and fresh styled shoot right out of the oven which I am super excited to showcase on this bloggity soon. Aaaand, I'm even more excited to team up with the ever fabulous Ally with Hair and Makeup Glitz and glam to add some extra magic to the shoot. This little lady is a wiz with what she does and I am so excited to work with her again. After doing some brainstorming I'm pretty happy and excited with the theme I've whipped up. But, I'm keeping it a surprise. MUAHAAAHAHA. And that was my intent of an evil laugh. So here's to styled shoots, evil laughs and cake cookies! :)
